Letter from President

Welcome to our Website Members and Visitors
As our year of 2018 comes to a conclusion, the honour of being elected President has been a fruitful one with a chance to work for our Veterans and Community.

We have an excellent team of Volunteers, that over the past year have raised funds tirelessly and are looking forward to do what it needs for being a Volunteer.

With the costs of Operations being what it is for a Not-for-Profit Service Club, These outstanding Volunteers, dealing with Inventory, Provincial and city regulation on use of Lottery Funds, licencing costs, entertainment taxes, provincial taxes, federal taxes, liquor tax, CPP, EI, WSIB, and Provincial Health payments on salaried workers and building maintenance costs at our own branch amounting to thousands of dollars a year. We owe a debt of Gratitude to all the volunteers, too numerous to name who give their time in so many ways to ensure that their club remains solvent.

As a past Service Officer, our Homeless or near Homeless Veterans’ have been aided a great deal when they ask on a one-time per request basis. Our Provincial Service Officer visits the Branch during the year and her visit is posted in our local newspapers for Veterans to make an appointment.
You do not require to be a member to visit our Limestone City Branch 560 and enjoy the camaraderie of friends and co-workers.

We have an outstanding RCL Sports scheduled program events on a monthly calendar posted on our Branch Sports Board. Members enjoy the competition on a Branch, Zone, District and Provincial level with the chance to represent our Branch at the Dominion level.

Our Youth Education Program is also a very important community event held through the period of Remembrance run by our Area Schools and presentations and awards are made in December in our Branch.
The Ladies Auxiliary are an integral part of any Legion and we are extremely fortunate to have our dedicated workers working alongside us to raise much needed funding as well. The Ladies hold various scheduled Bazaars and Craft markets and rummage sales throughout the year. Please check our calendar of monthly events.

We have an extraordinary Seniors group called The Young At Heart Seniors Club that use our Branch facilities for their weekly card games and lunches, have historically helped with financial donations as well.
Summer starts our Patio Party on the May 24 weekend. BBq’s are held during the summer. Get your reservations in through the Branch Office Mon-Fri day from 9-4 P.M.
